Associate Professor David Winlaw

David Winlaw is a Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon and cardiac researcher. His principal appointment is as a senior staff specialist at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and also works as a cardiothoracic transplant surgeon at St Vincent's Hospital. He is an Associate Professor in the Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health, University of Sydney and is Head, Kids Heart Research, The Children's Hospital at Westmead. As a cardiac surgeon, David recognises the importance of the homograft valve bank to many children and adults. His research interests include the genetic basis of congenital heart disease, the role of water transport proteins in myocardial dysfunction and clinical outcomes of homograft use. He is a National Heart Foundation of Australia Career Development Fellow.

Kuet S. Li is a Senior Hospital Scientist and is responsible for the total quality management at the facility. He is  the webmaster and database manager for the Australasian Tissue Banking Forum and also this site. Kuet is currently finishing his doctorate degree at Sydney University in Health Informatics and is registered as a Justice of the Peace of NSW.

Larran commenced work at the Bank mid-May 2007 as a Hospital Scientist in the Production Team. She has double majors in Biochemistry and Immunobiology and previously worked as a Blood Banker at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She is an active and passionate supporter of medical research fund raising through Cruzin for a Cure for brain tumour research.
